Here's my story, I was about 65 pounds overweight for the past 2 years or so. I tried a lot things to lose weight - diet pills, hardcore exercise, giving up all my good tasting food... ( I hate that!)

Good thing happened, I lost some weight. But after about 4 or 5 months of trying pretty hard, all of my progress started slowing down!

Sound familiar, right?

It's like it got harder and harder ... and as time went on, I started craving the foods I loved more and more. And, yep... I slipped up. Big time! I even started to gain weight back!

Well, I started looking at more options.

I wanted to lose weight for good - I wanted to look good for my wife (and not be ashamed even though she told me it didn't matter ... gotta love her!) - I wanted to feel comfortable in clothing (and not feel like it was clinging on my fat rolls or making me sweaty) ... and I wanted to do it for my health once and for all (since there's quite a bit of cancer & diabetes in my family).

But the problem was nothing was really working for me anymore. When I tried to just "cut back"
more and bump up my exercise... I started feeling miserable. I was ready for something new.

Until I came across the Primal Blueprint written by Mark Sisson. He's been helping people get their lives back on track by making them happier, more energized, clearing up their skin, fighting allergies, and melting fat away naturally with simple, "Primal" (REAL food) meals.

At first, I didn't pay much attention to it. I just didn't see how not obsessing over dieting and start eating certain foods could work so well ... when I thought I'd tried it all before.

That's until a couple of the health bloggers I really look up to tried it out. They noticed that it bumped their fat loss again without trying very hard, and, to be honest, I was getting jealous! lol

I was thinking, "Dang... I've been dieting hard for months & months now and it seems like the brakes have been on the whole time .  And now these guys are doing it and talking about how easy it's been. What gives?"

So I took the plunge and grabbed a copy for myself...

I read through it in 2 days (and I HATE reading but this was pretty easy to read and I really didn't want to put it down). Once I finished it, I was impressed! This was something I could really do. No more eating tiny, bland, chicken/brown rice/broccoli meals all day. Woo hoo!

Now I could eat eggs & bacon for breakfast if I wanted. I could eat chicken wings again and not feel like I was breaking my diet. And I could eat dark chocolate again every day if I wanted.

(If you only knew how happy my wife and I were about being able to eat chocolate after dinner again... oh my gosh... relief!)

Once I got everything adjusted to this way of eating, it was like a fog had lifted up and I was feeling energy I hadn't felt before. Plus, the scale was going down even though I was eating lots of foods that I never could on other diets and programs I'd tried before. (I can eat bacon & "Primal" pancakes for breakfast? .... Oh yeah!!)

Here's one thing I learned inside:

Apparently, our bodies aren't adapted to working very well by eating certain foods like sugar, grains, & dairy ... but when you take them out of our diet and replace them with more quality meats, veggies, fruits & foods like that ... you'll soon notice a big boost in energy & mood as fat starts to melt off by itself as your body returns to its natural weight.

I sure didn't know that!

Without getting into a nerdy, sciency lesson, apparently it's kinda like hitting a "Restart" button that sorta re-programs your body to use up the extra fat it's been carrying (like it's supposed to in the first place), so it can go back to the lean physique it wants to be at.

So if you focus on eating real foods, you'll feel satisfied, energized and lose weight pretty easily! You don't have to count calories, follow meal charts, or any of that kinda stuff. You just start eating & moving the way your body is designed to, and it does the rest by itself.

Here's the amazing thing, this simple concept in The Primal Blueprint started working almost immediately! Even though I wasn't quite doing it 100% the first week, I still lost 6 pounds!
(I'm down 28 pounds total right now and still losing without thinking about it all too much).

It's pretty amazing really. (And so tasty... did I mention how tasty the food is now? :-) lol)

Needless to say I was impressed. It wasn't all smooth sailing, however. I got a little confused on one section of the book, but I was able to look at Mark's site & forums to figure it out.

There was TONS of more helpful info on the site & forums, and they helped me through my confusion to get everything figured out.

So I highly recommend The Primal Blueprint to anyone! It's important to help you stay naturally fit and healthy without becoming an obsessive nutrition & gym nerd! (Been there, done that, burnt out .... not fun). This way of eating, moving, & living just feels so natural & energizing.


So will The Primal Blueprint work for you?
If you can cook & eat simple, uncomplicated meals and move around more naturally ... then I would say yes! I bet you'd be surprised how well you might feel.
